Abstract

Abstract:

      The current research aims to identify the possession of middle school mathematics teachers of visual thinking skills, the researcher adopted the descriptive approach for its suitability to the nature of the study objectives, and prepared a tool for research test to find out whether mathematics teachers possess visual thinking skills, it consisted of (25) test items of the type of multiple choice with four alternatives It was distributed among the five visual thinking skills, which are: (shape recognition and description skill, shape analysis skill, information link skill, perception skill and the interpretation of ambiguity, the skill of extracting meanings), and by five paragraphs for each skill, the validity and reliability of the tool were verified.

      After the tool was ready for application, the visual thinking skills test was applied to the research sample (middle school mathematics teachers), in the middle and secondary schools affiliated to the General Directorate of Education in Maysan Governorate, and after the appropriate statistical analyzes were conducted, the researcher concluded that middle school mathematics teachers possess visual thinking skills , and concluded that middle school mathematics teachers have visual thinking and they possess every skill of visual thinking, then put a number of recommendations and suggestions.
