Abstract

Abstract:

      The research aims to know (the cognitive competence and its relationship to the achievement of history among the literary sixth students). Baghdad/ Al-Rusafa II, which was chosen by simple random method.

      The researcher omit built a scale of (cognitive efficiency), which consisted of (30) items, then the psychometric properties of the scale were verified, such as honesty and stability, and the achievement scores of sixth-grade literary students were adopted in the achievement test for history for the first semester of school administrations. rewrite. After analyzing the data statistically, the following results were obtained:

  • The students of the sixth preparatory grade have a good level of cognitive competence due to their enjoyment of a good knowledge structure as a result of the knowledge and experience they acquire through their studies repetiton their pursuit of knowledge and the development of their cognitive abilities and skills.
  • There are differences between the arithmetic scale of males and females and in favor of females, and thus females have more ability than males in cognitive competence.
  • The relationship between the two variables is positive, which means that the higher the cognitive efficiency, the higher the achievement of the sixth literary grade students.

In light of the results, the researcher presented a set of recommendations and suggestions.
