The current research aims to identify the role of the advanced organizer strategy and its role in developing lateral thinking among students of the Institute of Fine Arts in the history of fine arts subject. The experimental approach was used, an experimental design with two equal groups, experimental and control, and the total sample of the research was (48) students in the first stage of the Institute of Fine Arts, Rusafa 1 for Boys, (24) students as the experimental group, (24) students as the control group. The researcher prepared the research tool represented by the lateral thinking test, which consisted of (20) questions. It was characterized by honesty and consistency. The experiment lasted (8) weeks after applying the tool and using statistical methods in processing the data. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the experimental group that studied according to the advanced organizer strategy and the average scores of the control group that studied according to the usual method in the lateral thinking test in the history of fine arts subject at a significance level of (0.05) and in favor of the group’s students.
