Abstract

 

  Abstract:

   The current research aimed to identify the level of mental alertness and information processing, and the statistically significant differences according to the variables of specialization (scientific - humanitarian) and the study stage (first - fourth) and in both variables. The Iraqi University, as for the two research tools, the researcher built a scale to measure mental alertness and adopted a scale (Mohammed, 2014) to measure information processing, and the validity and reliability of both scales were verified, and after processing the data statistically using the Statistical Package Program (SPSS), the following results showed: The female students of the Tarmiyah and Girls' Education faculties at the Iraqi University had an appropriate level in both variables (mental alertness and information processing).

- There are no statistically significant differences between the scientific and humanitarian specialization and the school stage in both variables (mental alertness and information processing). There is a positive correlation between vigilance and information processing. In light of the research results, the researcher formulated a number of recommendations and suggestion
