Abstract

       The aim of the current research is to identify the academic delay in fifth-grade students

The biology and the applied and the difference in academic delay between the fifth scientific students (biology and applied). The research sample consisted of the fifth scientific students in the two sections (applied and biology) or the number of them is (200) students, and they were randomly chosen by (100) students from the fifth biologist and (100) A student of the fifth applied college morning study for the academic year 2020 - 2019. The General Directorate of Education in Baghdad, the second Rusafa The researcher built a measure of academic delay in its final form of (35) paragraphs and in front of each paragraph three alternatives. The researcher extracted the psychometric properties of the scale (honesty and consistency). After collecting the data, it was statistically treated and the results of the research showed that the students of the fifth scientific grade in its biological and applied branches They have academic delay and the absence of differences in academic delay between students of the fifth grade in the applied and biological sciences, and in light of the findings of the research, the researcher made a number of recommendations and proposals
