Building and applying the health belief scale for kindergarten children

Abstract

The current research aims to build and apply the health belief scale among kindergarten children. To achieve the goal of the research a health belief scale has been built up of (23) paragraphs positive and negative and in front of each paragraph are two alternatives (yes no). The alternative yes is given (1) and the alternative no is given (0). The scale has four domains. The scale was applied to the construction sample consisting of (200) children from a kindergarten. The researcher verified the statistical analysis of the paragraphs of the scale as well as it’ psychometric properties like validity and reliability. After checking these procedures the scale was applied to the basic research samples which consist of (194) child of (95) males and (99) females; and to deal with the data statistically the researcher used a set of statistical means then the researcher reached the following result:

1- A scale that has been constructed has acceptable acceptable psychometric properties, as possible by measuring the phenomenon under study.

 2- Kindergarten children are characterized by a level of healthy beliefs.
3- There are statistically significant differences in health beliefs among kindergartens’ children and this difference was in favor of the female sample.
After finding the results of the research the researcher put a set of conclusions recommendations and Suggestions
