This study aims to develop a strategy based on connectivism theory and to examine its effectiveness in students’ academic achievement of the Institute of Fine Arts in the subject of aesthetic education.
The researcher adopted the experimental method, using a partial control design with two equivalent groups (experimental and control) with pre- and post-testing.The research population consisted of female students of the Institutes of Fine Arts for girls in Baghdad Governorate. A random sample of (60) students was selected and equally distributed between the two groups. The strategy based on connectivism theory was applied to the experimental group for a period of eight weeks, while the control group was taught using the traditional method. An achievement test in aesthetic education was prepared to verify the effectiveness of the strategy, and a set of appropriate statistical methods was used to analyze the data using the SPSS statistical package. The results showed the existence of statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group in the post-test, indicating the effectiveness of the strategy based on connectivism theory in raising students’ achievement in the subject of aesthetic education. The effect size results also revealed a large impact of the adopted strategy.
