The researcher chose an experimental design comprising two groups (experimental and control), The two groups were matched on variables such as chronological age, previous academic achievement in history, mother's academic achievement, father's academic achievement). She also controlled variables that could affect the dependent variable procedurally. The researcher prepared a historical empathy scale consisting of (25) items, extracted its validity, reliability, and psychometric properties, and then applied it to the main research sample at the end of the experiment. Using the (T) test for two independent samples, the results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group.
