Abstract

The current research aims to know:

- The effect of an educational program on developing deductive thinking for kindergarten children

- Differences between males and females in the development of inferential thinking

The current research population consisted of kindergarten children in Baghdad/Rusafa II governorate who were (5-6) years old. The research sample consisted of (60) male and female children, (30) male and female children in the control group, with (15) males and (15) males. Of the females and (30) boys and girls in the experimental group, with (15) males and (15) females. The two research tools consisted of a test for deductive estimation and an educational program for developing deductive thinking, and psychometric properties were found for them. The data were analyzed statistically using the t-test. For two independent samples, chi-square, Richardson equation 20, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Spearman-Brown correlation coefficient, the study reached the following results:

- There is a statistically significant difference in the average scores of the inferential thinking test between the children of the experimental group that was exposed to the educational program and the children of the control group that was not exposed to the educational program, in favor of the experimental group.

- There is no statistically significant difference in the average scores of the inferential thinking test among the children of the experimental group that were exposed to the educational program according to the variable gender (males – females(
